When to visit Canada

The mountains in the west are being buried in snow breaking records. The central provinces of Canada are reaching temperatures in the 20s breaking records. And in the east they are receiving a mixed bag of sunshine one week and snow the next? Wow… what is up with the weather!!

When travelers decide to book flights to Canada, one word usually comes to mind: cold. In most cases, this is very true. Toronto however, is as far south as the French Riviera and has four seasons that vary in weather.

Summer is the busiest time of the year and Canadians like to make the most of the warmer months. Although, to avoid the crowds and the higher flight prices I like to visit during the spring and fall (September – November). You can catch the intense red leaves that Canada is famous for but miss the crowds and the cold.

The whole point of visiting Vancouver in the winter is the experience, and this city is prepped and primed with the very best activities. The theory that Canada freezes over is a myth, particularly for Vancouver as it has one of the mildest climates in the country. While the nearby mountains get doused with enough powder to keep skiers happy, the streets stay clear enough for you to comfortably walk around.
